1. Playmate Pillow from a favorite site.
2. Its almost Valentines. Everyone needs hearts in their home.
3. Another fabulous blog added to my blogroll.
On a side note-
One thing I love about the blogging community is when something tragic happens it seams many bloggers and readers step up to the challenge to do whatever they can in those situations. A few weeks ago shop owner and blogger Gina Drennon’s husband past away unexpectedly. It caught everyone off gaurd including her precious sons. One of her closest friends is asking for us all to help in this situation. If you have a moment this weekend check out her shop and maybe order a few goodies from her. At this time her shop (Feather Your Nest) is her only income and she is going to be shutting it down. Everything is 25% off. Also, if you know her or of her email words of encouragement to her. Thanks friends.
Please have a great weekend and I will see you on Monday!!
I rarely ever do personal posts here on Simply Grove but I just had to share a few images from my daughters first ballet/tap class this past week. She is the little Blondie who is thoroughly enjoying her time spent at the studio. What a joy for me it was to watch my little girl do such a “big girl” activity. Why do they grow up so quickly?
My son was rather bored watching the class but hung in there knowing that a Starbucks chocolate milk was the prize at the end of the outing.
Artist, illustrator and designer Renee Anne has done such an amazing job capturing her home in these lovely images. I am not quite sure what this talented lady cannot do, but I do know that she can take some mean photos. I really wish that I could see all of her space but this will have to do for now.
I am in love with her tin collection. (Below).
You must check out her site, blog, shop and other shop.
I bought a new pillow and throw from Ikea for my sofa. Do you like?
This is where my son and I’s day is being spent today. Neither of us are feeling to hot. We are trying to convince my daughter to wait on us but its not working. Baby dolls are WAY more important.
I am always messing with my family room bookshelves. I either crave color or need a break and lean towards neutrals. Right now I am loving whites, creams, oats so I decided to move differently with some of my books and face them inward. I love the neutral vibe that it gives off. I also displayed some of my ceramics that are in the same color family.
Most of my treasures displayed with the books were found from thrift shops, Urban Outfitters, Anthro and Ikea.
Paris Chic & Trendy is one of my favorite little books for some serious inspiration. I am in the process of convincing my husband that our 10 year anniversary this September needs to be spent in Paris. Don’t you think???
Sometimes I am just floored by people’s abilities and talents. I bet you didn’t know that one of the talented individuals who helped design my site is also a FANTASTIC artist. I have already given him a brief shout out but that just doesn’t cut it. Especially when he just started doing family portraits that are worthy of hanging up on walls everywhere.
Jeremiah Hagler of Blondebeard Illustrations created this portrait for a hip, young family. The colors, the quirkiness and the thoughtfulness behind this piece is what makes it perfect. I am hoping that my family will be one of his next clients!
Visit his Etsy shop for more info and pricing.
Oh, and he is married to her. That is alot of talent in one house. And their son loves me! (Sidenote).
Look at what I got from a new sponsor, Bella Grano, who was also a Les Bois Tuesday a few weeks back. I ADORE this brown and robin egg blue airplane pillow. I am still in the process of finding the perfect home for it. I also love my new planner and business card holder which came in handy at Alt.
I think everyone needs one of the airplane pillows somewhere in their home!
If you love modern and or vintage modern why wouldn’t you want to stay at Boise’s Modern Hotel?? I personally have not yet tried this mid century Hotel out but I am thinking that this would be the perfect getaway spot for hubby and I. I did take a tour last year with my friend and I was quite impressed with the furniture choices and aesthetic of each room.
If you are a local, make sure to tour or just pick a weekend to have a mini getaway at The Modern Hotel. If you live out of State or country, come visit!! Visit their site and blog.
I adore this apartment! Jewelry Designer, A. Stine Johansen, decorated her stunning abode with old and new pieces. She also has alot of jewelry and bright art displayed around her apartment. Read more (thru translator) here.
Good morning (afternoon and evening for some)! How are you all doing? I hope that you had a great weekend. Me, I am getting back into the swing of things after a wonderful time at Alt Summit!! I met many many talented bloggers, designers ect. And it was amazing to put faces to so many names. Some of my all time favorite blogs were represented and that was kindof exciting for me. I have found much inspiration gazing at sites around the web and around the world.
Bummer for me, I forgot my camera. My cousin Rachelle who was also my traveling partner, brought her camera but then we forgot it at the hotel so needless to say, not many pictures were taken. But that’s ok. Relationships were made, tricks of the trade we learned and memories will be fondly remembered for a long time.
If you would like to see a detailed post on the conference, my friend Ellie from Mint has done a fabulous recapping the event.
Well peeps, I’m off! Off to Salt Lake City for the Altitude Design Summit. My cousin Rachelle and I are traveling the almost 6 hours to Salt Lake today so pray there isn’t much snow! I will be twittering throughout the conference so if you want updates make sure you are following my twitter.
I will try and post this weekend but if not, I will see you on Monday!

I am loving these images from Doryn Wallach of Doryn Wallach Design. Doryn is a veteran of several upscale design firms in both Boston and New York and has also done a stint on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Her portfolio is quite extensive. Beautiful job!
I am excited to be featured in Cleo Magazine’s February issue. I wish I could pop on over to a store and grab the issue but miles and miles are separating me. So all of my Australian friends, let me know how it looks!
Thanks Joanna and Cleo!
