I found this creative space via Flickr.  It was designed and finished by designer, creator, writer, stylist, consultant and photographer (wowzer) Elizabeth Maxson who uses it as her personal home office.  Elizabeth painted all of the walls, flooring and furniture.  One of the details that makes this space work so well is the neutral, rich colors she used.  They are continued in everything and it gives the space a real finished look.   Bravo Elizabeth!

Cécile's {Style Test}

Cécile’s Style- Chic meets Scandinavian Modern

Feminine design became relaxed and comfortable in these spaces.   Color or no color, the rooms feel fresh and full of personality.  Fashion forwards the textures, textiles and lines.  Focus on beautiful furniture and rich textures.

The carpet in our front room is GONE...

Sitting Room

We have finally decided to rip out our carpet in a few rooms.  Most of the rooms downstairs will be getting new flooring.  Yay!  The first room to receive new wood floors is our front room.  I guess you could call it our sitting room.  I want to turn it into a reading/playing/working room for the kids and us.  The kids have a playroom upstairs but when mommy and daddy are downstairs, they want nothing to do with upstairs.  Anyways, for this room I am ready to embark into white wood floors.   I will be sure to share with everyone how I feel about them, positive or negative.  I am sure it will be positive!  My hubby is going to start installing them tomorrow.  Cant wait!

Below are a few inspiration images for white wood floors.

And speaking of wood, we have some fabulous wood pieces at Brass Razoo, like these wood necklace forms.

There is something about a wood piece next to a smooth more modern piece.  Its instant beauty!  I say yes to wood!

Thank you to everyone who filled out the survey!!  It has helped me gain new perspective.  I definitely know what is going to be cut and what is going to be added.  You were all very clear on a few things which I appreciate.  If you haven’t filled out the survey yet, please feel free to do so here. I now need to organize my thoughts.  Hopefully my thoughts can be as organized as the image above!  (Which happens to be one of my favorite Sneak Peeks ever on Design* Sponge.)

Hey peeps!  I hope your week started off great yesterday.  I just remembered that I never posted pics of my new birthday bedding that my hubby got me.  I twittered about it but forgot to post it.  I have to be honest.  Since my venture into Brass Razoo, Simply Grove has taken a bit of a back seat.  This is not my permanent intent with SG.  These last couple months have been quite busy and it has been at times challenging to find the time to do everything.  Now that I have more of an understanding of my schedule, I feel more confident in my decisions.  Now back to SG, I need your help!  Can you fill out a survey for me?  Pretty please?  I am planning on taking some new steps with SG but before I do that, I need you!  Its only 10 questions and the questions are super easy to answer.  If you would like to help me out, go here.  Thank you!

Happy weekend everyone!!  I hope that you have a great weekend and I hope that you do lots of fun things.  I’m going to try and do some thrifting and garage sales tomorrow depending on the weather.  Rumor has it that it is supposed to be thunderstorms all weekend.  Hmmm.  Do you enjoy touring garage sales?

I love this mini hallway makeover that Belinda of The Happy Home just completed.  I am so into black and white stripes right now.  It goes with anything and everything.  The art wall looks great too!!

Exciting news!  Erin Loechner of Design for Mankind is HGTV’s newest blogger.  Every Wednesday you can tune into HGTV and watch Erin and her husband Ken’s gutted renovation of their home in the Midwest.  They are transforming it from a rancher to a Scandinavian cabin.  I cannot wait to see what they have in store for their home.  Everything that Erin does is amazing, so I have full confidence in this renovation!!  Yay Erin!!!
