A Perfect Palette…

This weeks Perfect Pallet from Cassie is al about those pretty jeweled tones.  I’m loving how the reds, pinks and purples flow seamlessly together!  And that blue?  Lovely. Don’t forget to check out my tips over on The Veda House.

We were there…

A family hike last night landed us at the old state penitentiary.   A bit creepy but so beautiful.  Eden has created a handful of “stories” about her visit there…:)

Hanging Out…

It’s summer here and I couldn’t be more thrilled!!!!  Summertime creates a plethora of activities for the kids and I.  Sometimes it can be stressful having the kids home and trying to freelance, but I wouldn’t trade summer for the world!  Hammocks are the symbol of backyard lounging in the summer.  The top image is [...]

Winning Rug…

This past fall, Warp & Weft was the sponsor of the Fashion Institute of Technology’s student design competition titled, Contemporary Creations: A Rug Design Competition.  They awarded two winners.  This winning rug, Kaleidoscope by Charlotte Rodiere, features colorful triangles made of luxurious triangles semi-worsted Merino wool in tip-sheared texture.  So beautiful!

The Happenings…

Why does time fly by so fast??  Ethan graduated kindergarten on Wednesday.  I can’t believe he’ll be in first grade next year!  And that Eden will be in kindergarten!  And that no kids will be home with me!  I think it’s time to get the baby bug… I am thrilled that it’s getting warmer outside [...]

Mom, Inc…

Being a mom is one of the hardest but most rewarding jobs that there is.  Pair that with having your own biz and you are going to need an extra shot of grace.   Let me introduce you to Mom, Inc!  Mom, Inc. is the next in the “Inc.” series of creative business books and [...]

Inspiration {Color}…

Everyone is in need of a little color in their lives!  I used to lean on black & white alot in my decor but recently I have embraced color.  When introducing color to your accessories, it’s easy to change when you’re bored or over a specific color.  I usually bring color into pillows, ceramics, art [...]

La Petite Magazine {Issue 8}…

Issue 8 of La Petite Magazine is out and it’s FANTASTIC!!  This is their summer issue, inspired by the desert.  The photography is breathtaking and the clothes…the clothes… lets just say that you’ll want to re-style your kids one by one.  You will also find quick tips from me that will hopefully inspire your children’s spaces.  Enjoy!

Succulent…

The easiest way to bring the outdoors in and create an organic mood in your home is to use succulents.  They’re easy to maintain and always look fantastic.  This one pictured is my favorite in my home.

Smock…

I love the concept of this cafe/arts and crafts oasis.  And I love the fact that 3 talented women put their heads together to create it. Read all about it over at The Marion House Book.

I’m Blessed…

I felt a bit un-organized this week.  My husband went to DC for the week and took my laptop.  I thought that I would be fine just using our desktop but quickly realized that I am lost without my good ole laptop buddy.  What’s funny is that the desktop is a million times faster and [...]
