No one can ever have to many pillows.  It’s the easiest way to freshen up a space!  I love the soft colors used in these Fred Shand pillows which are available at Anthropologie.  Also the tiny coral cross-stitches and printed and appliqué plumes are pretty awesome.

Today I’m bringing my third installment of a recent collaboration with the new Art.com.

When talking to clients and friends about their spaces and re-designs, the number one detail that at times can bring panic attacks is what art to choose for their space.  It can feel overwhelming and financially straining.  When we think about art we automatically think that it’s going to empty our wallets when we find that perfect piece.  My uncle who was an avid art collector, spent some good money on his collection but he also found pieces that spoke to him that were extremely budget friendly.  I’m here today to tell you that you don’t have to spend alot to get what you want!

When decorating my own house, I love using colorful art.  I do appreciate a good black and white piece from time to time but colors really speak to me.  I inherited quite a few pieces from my uncle so naturally those pieces mean the world to me.  I also have collected prints over the years, mostly from Etsy.  Each print reminds me of a different time in my life.

Three Figures print by Kasimir Malevich has such a pretty color palette.  I could stair at these colors all day!

Use art that speaks to you and use art that means something to you.  When you’re at a flea market with your best friends and you see a piece that you love, purchase it and it will mark the day you spent with your besties.  Or find out what your loved one has had their eye on and purchase it for them.  It will be a special piece of art for the both of you.  Make art a sentimental moment.  You will appreciate it that much more!

This heart print by Andy Warhol reminds me of a print that I bought for my husband a few years ago.  It’s hung in our bedroom.  So romantic!:)
Have fun with art and never allow it to overwhelm you!  At the end of the day it’s all about what you love.

Have you ever seen a piece that you love but you have no idea where to find it or who the artist is??  Art.com has about the coolest app ever!  Artmatch, an iPhone app, will try and identify whatever piece you have found.  All you do is take a picture of the art and they will do the work for you!  How cool is that?!

Also, art.com has a new ipad app called artcircles.

This app allows to see collection in a very easy and affective way.  I curated a collection so you can check out all of my favorite “colorful” art.

This post was in partnership with Art.com.

Nuans Design is a little piece of furniture heaven.  Nuans Design aspires to bring most unique European designs to North American furniture market.  Here are 3 pieces that I am loving!

Sofa, Chair, Unit.

This wooden ladder has become a multifunctional piece.  It is storing magazines, a blanket and even a clip on light.  What a great space solution for any room!

I am a firm believer in collaborating.  I always say that two heads are smarter and wiser than one independent head.  Lia Fagen of Mod Pieces recently collaborated with textile designer Avril Loreti to create a limited edition collection of lamp shades.  The two met at the Toronto One of a Kind Show.  Lia was drawn to Avril’s angular patterns & off-beat colour schemes. Avril’s line of modern homewares had never included lamp shades, and it wasn’t long before they started discussing a collaboration.  Bravo ladies!!

Shop the entire collection here.

On Sunday Shane and I celebrated our 12 year anniversary.  I can’t even believe how fast the last 12 years have flown by!  I absolutely adore my husband and can’t even imagine life without him.  We are a match-made in heaven.  Cheers to 12 more years and many many more years after that!!

This is a look worthy for fall time.  Black and gold look fantastic paired with red and grey.  Of course I always say produce a room like this against a white backdrop.  The colors can pop that much more!

What can I say Tea Collection!  You’ve produced some sweet threads once again!

When my kids started school it was still so hot outside.  I was super excited to have the weather cool down a bit just because they could wear their cute back to school pieces from Tea Collection.  Eden is wearing the Finn Flora T-Shirt Dress which I paired with leggings from Target and shoes from Zara.  Ethan has the Mod Stripe Tee on which is paired with H&M jeans, shoes from Target and a red belt from Shawn White for Target.

Thanks Tea Collection!

This is not a sponsored post. I agreed to accept and write about Tea Collection because I’m a huge fan of their product.

This industrial kitchen feels warm, probably due to the pretty rug and fantastic light fixture.  I’m a huge fan of metal and wood mixed so this space would fit nicely in my imaginary dream home.

There’s a corner in my office that I’ve been working on the last few weeks.  My kids tend to use it the most so I’m trying to create a workspace for them complete with all of their supplies.  Both shelves are reclaimed wood that we had in our garage.  The red books on the top shelf were inherited from my uncle.  (My goal is to visit each of those countries.  Good goal, right??)

I’ll post more images soon, once I’m happy with the space.
