In honor of November, which is National Adoption Awareness Month, I styled a very special room in partnership with Tuesday Morning. If you have followed me for some time now, you know that both of my kids are adopted. Adoption is VERY important to us! We are also surrounded by friends and family who have adopted or are in the process of fostering to adopt. One of those people is one of my dearest friends, Kate, who is a single parent foster mom. In the past few weeks and months, she has had several kids placed in her home. Most recently, she had 3 siblings (2 girls and 1 boy) and another little girl placed in her home. Kate was born for this! Her heart for these kiddos is like nothing you’ve seen before. The sibling group may become a permanent part of her life, which is so exciting to watch. Keep reading.
Because Kate was not expecting a full house right away, her cute home isn’t big enough for four kids. But because she’s such a rockstar, she made a little area for the little boy in her room. He’s never had his own room, so Kate wanted his section of the bedroom to feel like his own space. So I partnered with Tuesday Morning to create a master bedroom perfect for Kate and her little foster boy.
If you haven’t heard of Tuesday Morning, let me make the introduction. Tuesday Morning has a diverse and large selection of merchandise with a focus on quality brands and designer names. The prices are hard to beat and everything is handpicked by their buyers from around the world. It almost reminds me of a really fun flea market for new items. I love finding unique products there!
For the boys corner, I found the cutest plaid quilt and pillow. It’s masculine and still feels classic and cool. I also found a VW art piece that is hanging on the side of his bed. Tuesday Morning has the best selection of baskets. I found a larger one to place all of his toys in placed it at the end of the bed. We pulled other things from her house to complete this corner.
For Kate’s corner. I found pale blush linens, a fuzzy pale violet blanket and a velvet throw pillow with tassels. Because the colors are all pale, it fits with the blue plaid. I also scored the prettiest floral art piece that I placed above her bed.
I love how her bedroom is simple yet girly and special. She’s a busy mom now and deserves a space that she can relax in and get some good shut eye.
Tuesday Morning has a wide variety of vases and ceramics, which is so important to me for styling. I found a few cute pieces to display on her side table. And that macrame pouf is the icing on the cake. The price was INSANELY good!
I am thrilled with this room! It shows that with a little creativity, you can create beautiful spaces even when space is tight. Fostering and adoption is one of the most important jobs that we can participate in. When people like Kate step in when there is a need, our hearts should burst with gratitude. Thank you Tuesday Morning for helping create a beautiful space for a deserving human!
