Our front door/entryway has needed a makeover since we bought our home two years ago. It’s lacked style and life. A few things needed updated, starting with the door color, door hardware and porch light. So when Nest reached out about their Nest Hello system, we took this as an opportunity to do an overhaul on this area. After painting our entire house black, we decided to paint the front door a rosy pink. We then installed this satin brass handleset, which I am obsessed with! After that, we swapped the patio light out for a simple, round glass light. My favorite thing about this look is that the door itself is very vintage/ circa Palm Springs 1958. Mix that with the technology of the Nest Hello and you have the most perfect juxtaposition ever!
Now, let’s chat about the Nest Hello. Combined with the familiarity of a doorbell, there’s an HD security camera. Oh my heck! Between Mr. UPS, neighbor kids and family members stopping by, I now have the convenience of being able to see who’s there. AND I can even speak to them through a microphone from wherever I’m at! Just the other day, I was at the gym and was able to see UPS drop off a package that I had been waiting for. It was a dream!
Nest’s mission is to create a home that takes care of the people inside it and the world around it. Designed to show you everything at your doorstep, Nest Hello delivers HD video and bright, crisp images to let you know who’s there. A few of my favorite features are the pre-recorded quick responses, recognition of family and friends and motion plus sound alerts. There’s also 24/7 streaming and continuous video recording, so you don’t ever have to miss a thing, even at night!
It’s hard to imagine life with a normal door bell. Now I can be on a business trip and still see what’s happening at my house. I can even boss my kiddos around from thousands of miles away!
Because the Nest Hello is very low profile, it can look good paired with any style of home, including modern, traditional, mid century and transitional. You don’t have to have a certain style of home for this system. It goes with anything!
By the way, a few simple items to add to your front door include a new door mat and potted plants. Both of these accessories can add pattern and texture. And both are very budget friendly.
The next time you stop by the Grove casa, I may sing you a song through the system. You just never know;)
