Woven Fiber Chairs via Simply Grove

Sometimes it’s the little things that get me super pumped. Case in point….I’m scrolling through Instagram the other day and I see that Design Within Reach has just released a new walnut version of the Hans Wegner Wishbone Chair (insert hyper, excited emoji face here). Granted, it’s not an earth-shattering headline, but for this design nerd it was big news. The Wishbone Chair is one of those iconic pieces that never ceases to stop me in my tracks. And it got me thinking about the numerous woven fiber chairs I’ve been eyeing lately. With their airy and sculptural design, they’re so extremely versatile, working just as well around the dining table as they do in the living room or even in an entryway. Care to see what I mean? Just take a look at these inspired spaces….

Neutral heaven right here. The muted tones of this woven lounge chair really keeps with the soft, natural feel of this room, while providing plenty of texture at the same time.

How pretty are these chairs?! I love the juxtaposition of the light, rustic table and chairs against the dark, modern kitchen. Contrast 101.

Yep, there’s that Wishbone Chair again. Like I said, this chair would work virtually anywhere. In this instance, it’s found a home in this modern stairwell alcove. And it look pretty perfect there, wouldn’t you say?

This dining setup is so unique. The mix of the dark wood frame with a lighter woven backing isn’t one that you see all too often. It’s rustic, it’s sculptural….and it’s just plain good.

I’ve never really been a huge fan of vanity spaces in a bedroom, but this little combo has me totally rethinking that idea. Large round mirror, slender table, perfect little woven chair. Sign. Me. Up.

Modern mirror in bathroom

Amber Interior Design

Everyone needs a mirror. It’s a home necessity that we all must have. Even if you’re the most easy going human, you still need to know if you have broccoli in your teeth…right?? Mirrors can be both practically needed (bathroom) or just needed for it’s aesthetic (living room). I, for one, love the light that a mirror reflects in a space. It takes a dull room and makes it fantastic! Another space to place a mirror is the entryway. When I am a guest, I appreciate when someone has a mirror for me to check and make sure I have no lipstick on my teeth, or that my hair isn’t crazy after being in the wind. Below is a few ideas for where to display a mirror in your home (besides the bathroom).

  1. Entryway. Like I said before, your guests will thank you. And it will make your entryway space feel bigger. This is smart for when you have a smaller entryway.

  2. Bedroom. This is also a necessity, especially when you are getting ready in the mornings. A floor mirror is a great options for the bedroom.

  3. Living Room. If you are dealing with a small space, adding a mirror can give off the vibe that your space is larger than it really is. Also, like I said before, it reflects light which helps in dark spaces.

  4. Dining Room. Same thoughts as the living room. And don’t you want to watch yourself eat??

Below is some of our favorite mirrors this season! You can find mirrors in all budget forms. Happy Shopping!!!

Fall Decorating Inspiration via Simply Grove

Image: Domino

It’s happening! The first official day of Fall is September 22 and I, for one, am beyond excited. It’s that time of year when we put away the shorts and sandals and break out our thick sweaters and ankle boots. But, outside the fashion world, other things are happening inside our homes, as well. Candles show up on our mantels, throw blankets become a constant companion on our sofas, and there’s always a steady supply of wood by the fireplace. Indoors, the transition from Summer to Fall can sometimes be a subtle one but there are plenty of styling tips for making our homes cozy and comfortable as we prepare for cooler days ahead. Just take a look at these impressive spaces if you’re needing a little inspiration…

Nothing says “Fall” like moody gray walls, warm flannel blankets, and a dark leather sofa. I’m also loving the slender taper candles on the mantel and the dried florals on the coffee table.

In the dining room, bare branches and sheepskin throws are the perfect accents for your table and chairs. A hefty pile of firewood in the corner adds a really nice touch.

Fall is also the perfect time to start changing out those flower arrangements. Opt for a jewel tone palette that includes lots of burgundy and hunter green, with a little bit of ivory thrown in for good measure.

Speaking of rich colors, how amazing is this room?! Choosing a dark tone for the walls and ceiling really helps to create that cozy, den-like feel. A brightly colored persian rug is just enough to break up the monotony.

Bedrooms are, by far, one of my favorite rooms to style during the cooler months. Just be sure to choose a uniquely patterned rug, pile on the neutral accent pillows, and throw a warm, knitted blanket on top of your comforter….the chunkier, the better.

Petal Lane Home

Art quotes have been a major trend these last few years. I personally am not growing tired of it because words are such a powerful tool. If we can remind ourselves certain positive sayings each day, we will win in the end. And to add to that, children need positive words spoken over them, so art quotes is a perfect detail to add to any child’s space. Petal Lane Home creates art and magnet boards that showcase some powerful sayings. Practically this is a perfect solution for both needing art and needing to display paper and photography in an office, bedroom, kitchen, kids room and the list goes on. Above are some of my personal favorites. You can see the entire Petal Lane Home collection at The Baby Cubby. Happy Shopping!
