If you follow me on social media, you know that we have been renovating our kitchen like crazy people. We started the demo a month ago and have been camping out ever since. If you’ve ever renovated a kitchen while living in the home, you know how quickly you want the space to be finished! We’ve been working around the clock, when we’re not working our normal jobs, to get this space DONE. Well we successfully finished this weekend…WOOHOO! So before I reveal the images of the kitchen, I wanted to show you my original design/kitchen concept for this space.
I love Dean & DeLuca and I’ve always wanted to create a kitchen that had that same feel to it. They have always incorporated a lot of wood elements, blacks, grey and whites in their locations. The design allows the food to pop and the space to feel clean. With the help of soapstone counters, black stainless appliances and white walls with no uppers, I think we have achieved a minimalist kitchen that I am now able to style with items that make a kitchen feel like a statement room.
I cannot wait to show you the entire space!!

When my husband and I bought our first home, we had nothing. Actually, I take that back. We had a bright green lounge chair and a coffee table from a thrift shop. Back then it was hard to find anything stylish that was budget friendly. We only had access to large chain furniture stores that were over priced and cheaply made. Now days, you can find stylish items all day long that are both budget friendly and well crafted! Now saying that, when you spend a certain amount that is less, don’t expect to have that item last 20+ years. But expect to have it for a few years and love every minute of it.
We have gathered our 30 favorite dining chairs, all for under $100! All of these chairs can be paired with different table options, such as farmhouse style or clean and sleek. You can also mix and match, as seen on the bottom image. So if you’ve had a hard time tracking down the perfect chair without breaking the bank, we hope this helps!!

Just ask and I’ll be the first to admit, working from home ain’t no joke. Of course there are perks…flexible hours, wearing pjs to the “office”, that kind of thing. But when it comes to staying focused and being productive, well, that’s another story. It’s just so easy to get distracted. And, all too often, one distraction leads to another.
That’s why I’ve made the commitment to work from a dedicated office space. Seriously, working in an area that is well-designed, inspirational, and equipped for the work you’re doing — it makes all the difference in the world. And it doesn’t even have to take up an entire room. If you’re tight on space, or simply wanting a minimal work area, the “corner office” is the perfect solution. The trick is that it has to be styled smartly. No clutter piles, tangled wires, and huge filing cabinets. I’m talkin’ clean and minimal, here…with maybe a few plants thrown in.
I love how this bright white workspace almost blends into the background. All the proportions, from the desk to the bookshelves, are slender and spare rather than heavy or clunky.
When I’m working in front of a computer for hours, window light is an absolute must. This well-lit corner space is so soothing and inviting. Everything has a very Scandinavian vibe, especially considering the simple furniture and neutral colors. A few plants add just the right touch of greenery.

Mid century pieces are a great way to keep things from feeling too “office-y”. Other textural elements, like a patterned rug and sheepskin throw, work equally as well in this type of space.

This built-in shelving and desk combo is absolute genius. It’s efficient, space saving, and beautifully designed. Yeah, I could work here.

Holy plant wall, Batman! This shelving design is so simple, yet completely amazing. Each shelf is styled with such fun art pieces and gorgeous greenery, you barely notice the computer screen hovering below. High fives all around.

We are smack in the middle of our renovation, and can I just say that keeping this house clean is as impossible as keeping a dog from eating a bowl of peanut butter. Seriously! I feel like all I do is walk around picking up garbage, wiping down surfaces and sweeping floors. I am by nature a very clean human. I love a clean home and a clean home loves me! So being surrounded by this renovation is hard for me.
I’m always looking for ways to keep my life simpler. I would rather be hanging out with my kids than cleaning my house. We’ve had this one random vacuum for years that takes strength and endurance just to push it around the house. It’s a beast! I feel like I took a visit to the gym every time I vacuum. Things needed to change. My mom and grandmother have ALWAYS sworn by Oreck! Like forever and forever. So when Oreck reached out to partner with me, it was a no brainer. I believe in this brand and I believe that Oreck can keep my house sparkly clean!
When I first attempted to use the Elevate Conquer by Oreck, I was like “what the heck”. It was a cinch! At half the weight of other vacuums in its class, the Elevate Conquer delivers a complete clean without the strain of lifting traditional heavy uprights. Along with that, the specialized Ultimate Handheld is recommended for your detailed & above floor cleaning needs. It allows you to get the best clean without hauling around the extra weight.
The biggest reason for my joy is that Oreck makes it really easy for my kids to vacuum now. YES! They’re both at the age where chores are a reality. I never gave them the chance to vacuum because of how awful our previous vacuum was. I truly believe in a happy, clean home and I want my kids to help out in that. Now that we have this super cool vacuum, they argue over who gets that chore. Perfect for me.
Shop Elevate Conquer and Ultimate Handheld for a happier cleaner home.
