There have been some fantastics DIY’s floating around the web lately. When I first saw this chandelier DIY on Little Green Notebook, I quickly thought of a few clients that would totally embrace this! It’s perfectly modern and can be placed as a transitional piece in most spaces. It actually comes from the folks at One Kings Lane. Great job!

Design Milk teamed up with Sherwin Williams to create this beauty. It’s inspired by a weaving art piece. The color palette is just perfect! See the entire DIY here.

We can’t own enough fantastic planters! When I saw this DIY on West Elm’s Front & Main blog, I knew right away that I would love to tackle this project. It looks like a fun summer project and I think my plants will thank me! Read more here.

I’m a fan of Gubi. Gubi‘s collection includes an amazing mix of classic and contemporary designs. Their catalog includes re-launches of designs from the 1930s to the 1970s, as well as collaborations with emerging designers. Everything is just too cool for school.

Several of you have inquired about the rugs in my bedroom seen in the latest Rue issue. A trend that we are seeing more and more in interior design is brass. Obviously brass and gold have been around for forever and designers have been using it for forever. But recently we’ve seen it being used in all styles of design. I’m particularly fond of it when used in lighting, hardware and other unexpected places. Above we see just a splash of brass in the sconce lighting. It’s just enough to give 0ff a super cool vibe

I hope that all of you mom’s had a wonderful Mother’s Day! I spent the day with family and friends. My kids made cards and crafts galore, my husband spoiled me and my father in law made us a fantastic MD lunch. I got sentimental on my Instagram yesterday. I just feel so blessed to be a mom of 2 incredible kids. Motherhood is simply the best job in the world.

There’s nothing quite like white or black kitchens with wooden accents. They look beautiful, simple and can stand the test of design time. Here are a few kitchen spaces with unexpected wooden details. We see in the kitchen above that they’ve incorporated wood in the ceiling. A great idea for a simplistic kitchen.

This all white kitchen has butcher block countertops, which look great mixed with other wood accessories.

I’m loving this kitchen! The wood wraps around the island so organically. And mixed with gold accents, it’s pretty much design heaven!

Another great use of wood is creating simple countertops and island spaces for extra seating and counter space.

Lately on Instagram: I was in Seattle earlier this week finishing up some projects. One project that I can’t wait to show you is simple, clean design. Here’s a sneak peek of the bedroom.

While in Seattle, my Aunt and I visited a Penthouse that Barbara Barry designed. She used lots of color throughout the space. My Aunt is a Barbara fan so it was fun to tour this space with her.

The weather has been perfect here in Boise. We had to celebrate with smoothies and the park.

I cannot wait to show you what I’ve been doing to the kids room! Hayneedle and I have been having some fun.

My newest addiction is Printic! It’s the easiest way to print and share photos straight from your iPhone. You just need select your pictures, not only from your iPhone but also from Facebook and Instagram, crop them, select your recipients and then they deal with the rest. They print and deliver these vintage-themed pictures right in your friends’ mailboxes (or yours). It’s so fast and fun. And CHEAP!
