My Guest Bathroom Renovation

When we bought our home 3 years ago, we thought for sure that we would renovate both full bathrooms right away. We tackled our master bathroom renovation almost a year later but because of time restraints, we waited to renovate the kids/guest bathroom, until now! I’m beyond thrilled with how it turned out! You can see the before below.

EEEEEEEKKKKKK.

Because it is a small space, I wanted to go bold with my tile choices. Color and pattern can feel so full and fresh in a small room. In the end I chose this Maya Green Tile from Riad Tile for the walls and Stone Impressions Cabrillo Collection for the floor. Mixing a graphic pattern with a strong pattern is life to me! Also, I have the best tile installer in Boise! Message me if you need his info.

You can see that the bathroom is super narrow. The bathtub is straight on the left and the vanities are straight on the right. We decided to keep the original bathtub, mostly because I’m obsessed with the color, but also because the size was very specific and we didn’t want to do a lot of structural changes. We added Kohler fixtures to modernize look of the tub. I love the old meets new vibe!

We tiled behind the vanity to match the tub. We then added CB2 mirrors and these awesome simple pendants from Cedar and Moss. The vanities, sinks and faucets are all Kohler. I have listed all sources at the end of this post.

I wanted to add a simple piece of art to this space and in the end chose this print from Wit and Delight.

The vanities originally had black legs, which is exactly what is in our master bathroom. We wanted the vanities to be completely white, so we sprayed the legs with a metal paint. A simple decision can make a huge impact!

The original bathroom had some built ins that we didn’t want to remover. It has a built in toothbrush holder (thank you 1960’s), a medicine cabinet and a door that connects with our hall linen closet. It’s all the things that don’t come with a new construction. Hello character!

  1. Congrats! Finishing a major project like that is an accomplishment. Great choices in tiles! And the vanities and lighting complement the overall look. And, of course, we love that touch of green courtesy of that potted plant. Thank you for sharing!

  2. Wow! Wow! Wow! Stunning, fresh and thoughtful! I want this bathroom!!!!!!
