My Home Resolutions…

When the New Year approached us, I was super excited to take down my Christmas decor, spring clean and organize each room. It’s funny how before Christmas, I was already sad thinking about taking the tree down but once New Years hit, I was beyond ready! My goal for 2013 (when it comes to my house) is to create a comfortable haven that people can relax in. Sometimes homes can be too stiff and perfect. I don’t want that. I want each room to have a story to tell. I don’t want my guests to feel like they can’t have fun. I want to mix unexpected patterns and display copper with silver. I also want to entertain like a crazy lady. Relationships have become beyond important to me and I don’t want to leave this world wishing that I had spent more time with friends and family. I’m ready to a have a really fun year, in my home.

Do you have any New Years resolutions for your home??

  1. This has been by far my favorite resolution post. Thank you. Many of the other design bloggers posts on resolutions have seemed very hoity-toity and turned me off. If I had a resolution for my home, I would want this too! I grew up in a home that you couldn’t really have fun in. This goal seems achievable and very fun in the process! Love the blog.

  2. It’s a great goal that’s overlooked by too many. Thanks for the reminder… Mel

I love this resolution because it combines all things that I love; family and friends AND my home! I feel the same way about making those who come to my home feel as comfortable as I do. I think that is the true key to a successful space, is that people feel compelled to be there. I open my home to all those that are important to me and I want them to feel that energy when visiting!

Lovely. I can relate to not wanting a stiff space. We see this so much in design nowadays. I love how our spaces are always telling stories, whether we notice or not. May your story unravel in the most beautiful way! :)

  8. Yay! I’m excited for this resolution cause it seems to include me!! :) more parties at the groves! I’ll wait for the call! I love your heart for people and how much love, time and fun you put into those around you! You’re awesome.
