If you’re feeling a lack of that ‘something special’ in your home, natural stone may be the missing link. Like plants, natural stone brings a little more life inside. Natural stone is literally from the earth, and I’m convinced that natural elements in your home not only make it more beautiful, but they can also add an organic feel. In this post, we hope to show you ways in which you can implement natural stone in your home and bring the beauty of the outdoors inside in a small or big way.
One of the more obvious options is using natural stone for your countertops. However, I love how the designers of this kitchen (pictured above) continued the look up the walls with marble tile.
A bright and unique slab of stone can make the perfect backdrop for any space, and I love this slab behind this tub! I also can imagine how well this idea would work behind an office desk, or as the first thing you see when opening the door to your foyer.
Instead of a small slab, try a big one as a large accent wall. I love this look in the dining room, but I have full confidence that this concept would work equally well in any room needing an accent wall. Go big or go home, right?
If your fireplace isn’t already the focal point of the room, or – if it is, but isn’t that interesting– natural stone is always a good way to go!
And, don’t forget that the most obvious place for natural stone, other than your countertops, is your floors! Don’t be afraid to get creative here with textures, colors, and shapes.
