I wanted to share with you a few still shots of my room that I styled for the Joyus design challenge. When designing this room, I had a few minutes to look over the fabulous furniture and products from H.D. Buttercup that I would be using. Nothing was sketched out, planned out or even thought out. Ok, I did think things through, but only for a few moments. I was thrilled to see the sleek white sofa and the colorful art and I decided to design the room around those two components. I knew that I wanted to keep the room feeling young and fresh so I created a palette that included white, a few pops of bright hues and natural green brought in by the plants. I also used the chrome “signal” style lights on either side of the sofa to create modern anchors for the room. Ombre is everywhere so I included an ombre throw and pillow to keep on trend. The patterned ottoman gave the room some tradition while the accessories that filled the “4 zones” of the ottoman kept it feeling fresh and modern.
So, there you have it!!!
The challenge is still underway so please don’t forget to head over to Joyus, watch all of the videos and vote for your favorite! Everyone did awesome. BTW, each time you vote you get entered in to win a $1500 shopping spree from Joyus. That’s a good reason to vote some more!! xxoo

Looks so great! I love the color combinations that you used.
Amazing work!, looks great.
SO beautiful Kirsten! I voted for you!
Great job, the space looks beautiful!
Looks amazing! If you don’t mind me asking, what brand/color of paint is that on the wall in the second photo? I love how it contrasts with the bright white shelves.
