As a child I had the opportunity to live in some beautiful locations here in America.  I was born right outside of Bend Oregon and then shortly there after moved to Jackson Hole Wyoming.  After living there for a few years we moved right outside the border of the Columbia River in Washington.  Then we moved back to Bend, followed by Seattle and then landing in Boise.  One thing that most of these places had in common were Aspen trees.  I’ve had Aspens outside many windows for as long as I can remember.  In fact, after my husband and I bought our first home, it felt incomplete without Aspens.  So we planted 3 outside of our living room.  This painting, (above) which is included in Art.com’s Americana gallery, creates a warm feeling for me.  It’s apart of my childhood into adulthood.  There are quite a few Americana pieces on Art.com that remind me of why I am proud to be an American (great song).

And now after writing more than usual (are you proud of me?) this month, Art.com’s Pinterest followers will have a chance to win a $500 Art.com shopping spree.  All you need to do is go now and follow Art.com’s Pinterest Boards.  Don’t miss your chance to win!

Today I’m bringing my third installment of a recent collaboration with the new Art.com.

When talking to clients and friends about their spaces and re-designs, the number one detail that at times can bring panic attacks is what art to choose for their space.  It can feel overwhelming and financially straining.  When we think about art we automatically think that it’s going to empty our wallets when we find that perfect piece.  My uncle who was an avid art collector, spent some good money on his collection but he also found pieces that spoke to him that were extremely budget friendly.  I’m here today to tell you that you don’t have to spend alot to get what you want!

When decorating my own house, I love using colorful art.  I do appreciate a good black and white piece from time to time but colors really speak to me.  I inherited quite a few pieces from my uncle so naturally those pieces mean the world to me.  I also have collected prints over the years, mostly from Etsy.  Each print reminds me of a different time in my life.

Three Figures print by Kasimir Malevich has such a pretty color palette.  I could stair at these colors all day!

Use art that speaks to you and use art that means something to you.  When you’re at a flea market with your best friends and you see a piece that you love, purchase it and it will mark the day you spent with your besties.  Or find out what your loved one has had their eye on and purchase it for them.  It will be a special piece of art for the both of you.  Make art a sentimental moment.  You will appreciate it that much more!

This heart print by Andy Warhol reminds me of a print that I bought for my husband a few years ago.  It’s hung in our bedroom.  So romantic!:)
Have fun with art and never allow it to overwhelm you!  At the end of the day it’s all about what you love.

Have you ever seen a piece that you love but you have no idea where to find it or who the artist is??  Art.com has about the coolest app ever!  Artmatch, an iPhone app, will try and identify whatever piece you have found.  All you do is take a picture of the art and they will do the work for you!  How cool is that?!

Also, art.com has a new ipad app called artcircles.

This app allows to see collection in a very easy and affective way.  I curated a collection so you can check out all of my favorite “colorful” art.

Growing up, my uncle was an avid art collector.  His home was always filled with color and history.  The walls in his home were stark white (even before it was popular) and every wall had amazing art collections.  When he passed away, he left some of his art pieces to the family members.  He left me an incredible piece that I have hanging in my dining room.  Having a “real” “legit” piece of art in my home has given me the art bug.  I would love to fill my home with colorful pop art, abstract art and americana art.

I recently partnered with Art.com, along with 25 other bloggers, and lucky for all of us and all of you, Art.com has recently launched their new site and it is FABULOUS!!

The new site is colorful, modern and super easy to navigate through.  Art.com offers easy access to the world’s largest selection of handpicked art images.  You will find original content featuring art and design inspiration as well as curated collections by designers.  Also, there are some great new tools to help people find the art they love.

I love all of these colorful pop art prints.

Another fantastic feature is that you can upload a photo of your own space and place the art where you would want it to go.  You can play around with different mattes, frames and sizes.  It ‘s super fun!!!  (Above is not my home.)

Enjoy their new TV Spot and PLEASE GO and enjoy Art.com.
