Several of you have inquired about the rugs in my bedroom seen in the latest Rue issue. Blik seems to be on a roll lately with new and innovative products. Issue #9 of Est Magazine is out and it’s GOOD!! They have several house tours that I cannot get enough of. You will get plenty of decor inspiration in this latest issue! This wardrobe (above) alone is sending me into decor heaven!

Before, the bedroom was painted in a white/mint hue. It worked for us but after awhile I wanted a change. A dramatic change.

I chose to paint just one wall, my bed wall, in Rock Bottom, a super deep charcoal. It instantly gave my bedroom a different feel. I use mostly white bedding so I wanted to create a dramatic contrast. Also, I used Sherwin Williams Emerald paint, which covered quite nicely. We used just under 2 gallons for this project.

I’m on a major brass and gold kick and the combo of gold and charcoal is flooring me! Knowing myself, I might be talking several clients into this look.

I chose not to use a headboard. The wall itself is my giant headboard and I love the simplicity of it all. Sometimes too much can take away from a space.

So there you have it! Thanks Sherwin Williams for inspiring us all to add new life into our homes by a simple coat of paint.

There is SO much to love about this Austin home tour seen on Apartment Therapy. First thing to love is that friend and photographer Adrienne Breaux did an amazing job capturing this home. Second thing to love is Architect and builder Cass Cheesar and his wife, Carla Umlauf-Cheesar, a native Austinite and realtor, designed a home that is true to it’s roots and absolutely gorgeous to view.

What makes this dining room so stunning is the mix of textures and materials. It’s a mid-century haven.

Their laid back style creates a homey feel in every room. Those club chairs compliment the swan picture perfectly!

Bright and white is the name of the game for this kitchen. I could do some serious cooking here.

This is one of my favorite areas of the home. The gold bird figurines are super cool!

I would hands down live in this Melbourne home! I love the soothing wood tones mixed with serene colors. It’s a looker!!

How many of us agree that paint can change the entire look and mood of a space?! A room can look completely different in only a day when painted. Or piece of furniture can have a totally new look when painted. That is why I’m a paint advocate! And why I have teamed up Sherwin Williams again for National Painting Week, this week! Remember last year when I painted my husband’s junior high dresser for NPW?? Well this year I’m tackling my bedroom! I knew that I wanted a dark moody grey to create a dramatic wall in my bedroom. I had been admiring grey bedrooms (like both shown) for awhile. That’s where Sherwin Williams Chip It application came in handy!

I downloaded my favorite grey bedroom online and this application matched paint colors to it. GENIUS! It made the decision that much easier. And it also showed me what accent colors to use. I’m sold on this application and will be using it for my clients.

I’ve been bedridden for the past 6 days with a horrible flu. I can’t remember the last time I’ve had a fever for 5 straight days! It’s always a bummer to be sick as a mom. My husband has done a fantastic job keeping life going but still as a mom, you want to make sure everything is going how you think it should go, right?? Anyways, it’s nice to feel human again. I’m not even going to look at my to-do list or might vomit.

Speaking of bedridden, the bedroom shown above would be a perfect space to escape the world. It seems bright, relaxing and of course stylish. I’m all for a good napping bed.
