Lately on Instagram: The kids and I visited my good friend Elise earlier this week. Ethan wanted to kidnap her dog, Nacho. He even snuck him in the car. I would have taken the sofa!:)

These last few weeks, Boise has been celebrating the Parade Of Homes. You’re not supposed to take pictures but I still snuck some in. This kitchen was by far my favorite on the tour.

This living room is from the same home as above. I LOVED that sofa.

Jocey from Wedding Chicks has the best Woolly Pocket filling up her wall. BTW, her bedroom is done and it looks great!

I’m LOVING this color palette.

There’s nothing quite like white or black kitchens with wooden accents. They look beautiful, simple and can stand the test of design time. Here are a few kitchen spaces with unexpected wooden details. We see in the kitchen above that they’ve incorporated wood in the ceiling. A great idea for a simplistic kitchen.

This all white kitchen has butcher block countertops, which look great mixed with other wood accessories.

I’m loving this kitchen! The wood wraps around the island so organically. And mixed with gold accents, it’s pretty much design heaven!

Another great use of wood is creating simple countertops and island spaces for extra seating and counter space.

Last month, I visited Heath Ceramics (picture from my Instagram feed above) in LA. I love everything about that store! The ceramics of course are simply stunning and I could use them for every house I style. My other favorite detail about the LA store was the cutting board wall. I love cutting boards! If I could had a collection, I would most definitely hang them on the wall. Another great way of displaying cutting boards is leaning them against your back splash, in groups or individually. And there’s always just laying them flat so that they can be a good use for you. Just saying! Below are a few spaces that display cutting boards nicely.

This kitchen, captured by photographer Alexander James, has received alot of attention on my Pinterest. I can see why! It’s the perfect combo of classic and modern. The flooring is breathtaking! And the combination of the floors with the eating area furniture is truly beautiful. I’m not a huge fan of upper cabinetry, unless you absolutely need it for storage. So of course I invision this kitchen a little more open. But besides that detail, I’m in love! Below is an easy and budget friendly way of receiving this look.

There is SO much to love about this Austin home tour seen on Apartment Therapy. First thing to love is that friend and photographer Adrienne Breaux did an amazing job capturing this home. Second thing to love is Architect and builder Cass Cheesar and his wife, Carla Umlauf-Cheesar, a native Austinite and realtor, designed a home that is true to it’s roots and absolutely gorgeous to view.

What makes this dining room so stunning is the mix of textures and materials. It’s a mid-century haven.

Their laid back style creates a homey feel in every room. Those club chairs compliment the swan picture perfectly!

Bright and white is the name of the game for this kitchen. I could do some serious cooking here.

I’m drooling over this blanket at the foot of the bed…

This is one of my favorite areas of the home. The gold bird figurines are super cool!

Lots of color creates a super fun bedroom for their daughter.

Happy Friday! I hope that your week has been successful. My husbands Grandmother died this last week so we spent time honoring her life and being with family. Life is short and it’s so important to invest in relationships. I feel like the older I get, the more sentimental I become. I don’t think that’s a bad thing, right?? Anyways, next week is going to be extraordinary, I feel it!

Also, thank you so much for helping me with the fabric decision! It’s made things a little easier. I will be posting which fabric I chose in the next few weeks!! Some of you were concerned about not having an outdoor fabric since it will be getting dirty. The great thing about Spoonflower is that the patterns come in a variety of  fabrics. If a durable fabric is not available, a great solution is covering it with a clear vinyl to make wiping easy. Or there’s always my best friend, scotch guard.
