There have been some fantastics DIY’s floating around the web lately. When I first saw this chandelier DIY on Little Green Notebook, I quickly thought of a few clients that would totally embrace this! It’s perfectly modern and can be placed as a transitional piece in most spaces. It actually comes from the folks at One Kings Lane. Great job!

A trend that we are seeing more and more in interior design is brass. Obviously brass and gold have been around for forever and designers have been using it for forever. But recently we’ve seen it being used in all styles of design. I’m particularly fond of it when used in lighting, hardware and other unexpected places. Above we see just a splash of brass in the sconce lighting. It’s just enough to give 0ff a super cool vibe

These Wästberg lights are colorful, modern and super sleek. I can see them in pretty much any room, creating a big statement.

Allow me to give a quick shout out to one of my favorite lighting designers that designed these masterpieces in 1930….whaaaaaa??? Robert Dudley Best studied industrial and interior design in Düsseldorf and Paris. During his studies, he designed this lamp collection.  Best wanted the collection to symbolise the spirit of the times and setting creating a future movement for lamp design. Today, ten of his lamps are still in production. Timeless and gorgeous describe these lights. It comes to show you that nothing is new under the sun and that a man from the 1930′s is part of a design movement is the 2000′s. Way to be Robert Dudley Best!

I have a slight obsession with lighting. It’s one of those elements that if overlooked, can destroy the feel of a space. My nightmare is that can lights are the only lights legal to use. NOOOOOOO!

When first seeing OneFortyThree’s lighting on Instagram, I was floored. Each piece is modern, unique and transitional. I recently used the desk lamp (above) for a design project. It fits the space perfectly. Logan Hendrickson, designer behind OneFortyThree, started making lighting and furniture because him and his new wife were in need if pieces for their new home. From there, his brand has evolved. I’m pretty sure that we will be hearing lots from Logan.

As you can see you will find not only lighting but some insanely cool chairs and accessories. I think that I will take one of each!

I wanted to show you a few of my favorite pendants from Tom Dixon. His entire collection takes my breathe away. I seriously want his lighting in every singe room in my home.

It’s spaces like this that make me love design so much.  This dining space  feels natural yet modern and serene yet sophisticated.  My eyes are drawn to the pops of color and the shape of the chairs.  It seems like people are always on the hunt for quality and stable dining tables, so when you see a style like this, it solidifies that they are out there, waiting to be found.

What catches your eye in this room?

These products for Moustache by Inga Sempé are clever and well designed.  The classic balcony decorated with a swivel mirror is perfect for small bathrooms.  Super functional and super clean is the name of this game.
