Now here’s a cool new product! Cocoon 1 is a very special place of retreat. “The innovative product magically connects aesthetics and function. Its insularity provides protection and seclusion. At the same time, its translucency enables us to let our thoughts wander whilst simultaneously allowing us to join in with life “outside”

Another fantastic pillow announcement! The Swedish textile design company, Bemz, is now launching a unique “Artist Series” collection of digitally printed and specially designed cushion covers. Developed by Bemz’s in-house designer Katarina Wiklund, the fabrics feature both classic and retro designs, new on-trend neon colours and interesting trimming and detailing.
I think I’m in love with all the designs shown here! The colors and patterns and spot on with the trends we are seeing around the web. There are lots of options to choose from and I think everyone will find something they love!
“The new collection includes five different designs, ranging from digital prints based on landscape photographs from 19thcentury postcards to patterns inspired by the recently renovated Fisksätrakyrkan (Fisksätra Church) outside of Stockholm. The patterns will only be available as cushion covers as a part of the Artist Series Collection, and all of the fabrics are made of natural materials like the rest of Bemz’s products. The collection will be available online and at Bemz’s Inspiration Store in Stockholm from today.”
No one can ever have to many pillows. It’s the easiest way to freshen up a space! I love the soft colors used in these Fred Shand pillows which are available at Anthropologie. Also the tiny coral cross-stitches and printed and appliqué plumes are pretty awesome.
I am a firm believer in collaborating. I always say that two heads are smarter and wiser than one independent head. Lia Fagen of Mod Pieces recently collaborated with textile designer Avril Loreti to create a limited edition collection of lamp shades. The two met at the Toronto One of a Kind Show. Lia was drawn to Avril’s angular patterns & off-beat colour schemes. Avril’s line of modern homewares had never included lamp shades, and it wasn’t long before they started discussing a collaboration. Bravo ladies!!

This simple dining space is a great mix of masculine and feminine. You can see danish and scandinavian moments in the furniture and accessories. Below is some suggestions to create a similar space on a budget. I like budgets!!!

Feathers print by Mini & Maximus (BODIE and FOU Exclusive). €42.
This is a look worthy for fall time. Black and gold look fantastic paired with red and grey. Of course I always say produce a room like this against a white backdrop. The colors can pop that much more!
This industrial kitchen feels warm, probably due to the pretty rug and fantastic light fixture. I’m a huge fan of metal and wood mixed so this space would fit nicely in my imaginary dream home.
It’s always exciting when you find new pillow designs. It seems like pillows are the most wanted accessory when re-doing a space. These pillows from Stone Textile are graphic and super pretty. Happy pillow shopping!!
I’ve been working with a client online who really likes mid century/modern/scandinavian but doesn’t feel like it fits her lifestyle. She also doesn’t want to buy all new furniture and accessories. She loves modern so we have decided to go with a mature modern aesthetic mixing traditional elements. When I first saw this home on Savills, an estate agent that specializes in luxury properties, I knew right away that it was perfect inspiration for my client. I mean that kitchen….amazing! And I would pay big bucks for a patio like that (below).
This space is definitely more mature than my normal aesthetic but being a designer means flowing with many styles. See, I can be mature!!!!
When asking my husband what he loved most about this space he said the following: “It’s light, it’s inspirational, it makes me want to buy a journal and drink tea.”
Thanks for the review, babe. Keep at it! 😉

And we have a winner for being the coolest furniture concept EVER!!! Duffy London has created the Swing Table. Perfect for your conference room or dinnertime! Because I am a swinging fanatic (I love hammocks, rocking chairs, swings, porch swings….anything that can swing me to serenity) I pretty much think this is the greatest invention to date. Just don’t pay any attention to the price.
Would you love this, fall asleep or never even consider it??
