Several of you have inquired about the rugs in my bedroom seen in the latest Rue issue. Due to my exhausted and slow working brain yesterday, I didn’t give credit where credit is due! My feature in Rue Magazine would not have been possible if it hadn’t been for Sara K Byrne Photography! Sara and Dylan and are insanely talented and such a pleasure to work with. I’m a fan for life now, and you should be too.

With Mother’s Day right around the corner, I teamed up with Stone Textile to create a fresh and fabulous Mother’s Day Brunch table top. I designed this table scene around these super cool diamond cut wood chargers. Because these chargers are natural wood, I played off the organic feel by using greenery from my backyard, orange vibrant tulips and simple white dish-ware. It created an organic and simple tablescape.

I also included the multi diamond print napkin and the light gray diamond print napkin to add some pattern to the table.

It just comes to show you that you don’t have to go over the top to create a beautiful table in honor of your mum. By simply visiting your backyard, you can adorn any table with natural elements. And of course adding these amazing Stone Textile products brings the coolness factor up a notch!

I am a MAJOR music lover. I listen to music 80% of the day. You will find many genres being played in our house and of course thousands of dance parties have been performed. This is why I’m freaking out over the Stellé Audio Pillar. I’ve had similar other products sent to me that were just so so. When I first tested the Pillar out, I couldn’t believe the sound that came from this sleek piece. It’s crazy! My house is around 2200 sq ft with an upstairs loft. When I turn the pillar on, music can be heard everywhere! I also love the look of the Pillar. It’s clean and modern. I’ve placed it all over my house and it fits right in with the aesthetic of each room.

I know that I sound like an infomercial right now but come on, when you find a product that you love, you are willing to shout it from the roof tops!!

So I have this bench that I re-upholstered quite a few years ago. I chose a black and white stripe because I figured that it would be a timeless option that I wouldn’t get quickly tired of. I was mostly right but now, I’m tired of it. Not only that but it’s filthy dirty! The kids use for most every meal time so it’s had its fair share of spills. Recently I’ve been wanting some change in my house. Specifically in my living room. I sold both of my sofa’s earlier this month and now all we have to sit on is a few chairs and the kids mini Ikea sofa. It’s not the comfiest of rooms so my husband is putting the pressure on me to buy a new sofa. With the sofa, I’ve decided to change up a few other details, including coffee table, area rug, lighting and other accessories. Shane’s only request is that we save up for an Eames lounge chair. He has wanted one since we were newlyweds so I guess I could squeeze it in the plan…;) Here is a rough draft of what I’m thinking. And can we talk about that sofa?? God bless the Luna Sofa.

My husband calls me a pillow hoarder. I like to think of it as a friendly passion. To my defense, a great pillow can change the look of a piece of furniture and even the look of a room. My newest pillow comes from Dragon 88. The Biosphere Digital Print Pillow makes a very graphic statement. I love the red and pink hues! It looks great against almost any neutral backdrop and can be paired with lots of colors. The price point is a little higher but remember, you pay for what you get. Filled with down feathers, this pillow is going to last and last.

I took a day last week and went thrifting, which I already mentioned to you. I really do have a love/hate relationship with thrifting. Somedays I score gems and other days I’m just finding poo poo. I had a mixed day last week. It started out by making me depressed and not wanting to ever hit a thrift shop/consignment store again. But then by the end of the day, thanks to one random store that I had never been to, I found a stash of treasures. It reminded me that it’s all about patience. If I had given up earlier, I wouldn’t have found that awesome gold plated ship that now sits proudly on my office bookshelves or the random cage that was used for fishing and now is used for a decor object. Now, I’m sure that if I lived in a bigger city with more options, it would be a little easier for me but for now it’s a full on treasure hunt. It’s a hunt that I’m not willing to do on a consistent basis.
