I hope that all of you mom’s had a wonderful Mother’s Day! I spent the day with family and friends. My kids made cards and crafts galore, my husband spoiled me and my father in law made us a fantastic MD lunch. I got sentimental on my Instagram yesterday. I just feel so blessed to be a mom of 2 incredible kids. Motherhood is simply the best job in the world.

The kids and I took a fun little road trip to visit my Grandma. These two always make life an adventure!

Happy Monday!

Today my kids and I are visiting my Grandma in Oregon. She’s had some complications the last few months which has landed her in the hospital. She is one of my absolute favorite human beings. Her stubbornness and tenacity for life is something not to mess with. Through the ups and downs of life, she has stayed as stable as a rock. I’ve gleaned from her my whole life.

Lately on Instagram… I installed a new design from FLOR yesterday in my living room. Eden very much approved it.

This last weekend Vanessa De Vargas and Jordan Cappella were in town for the Chair Affair. Of course we had to do a little thrifting while they were here. Vanessa spotted the chair above for me. I looooovvvve it.

I’m working with Wedding Chicks on a bedroom re-do with co-creator and owner of bedroom, Jocey. It’s looking awesome! You’ll see some fantastic Serena and Lily pieces throughout the space.

I’ve been visiting Home Depot alot this last week. It could quite possibly be record numbers for me. Wearing glitter shoes is the perfect ensamble for Home Depot. Right??

Well friends, I’m 32 years old today. I can’t believe how quickly times moves on, even if we don’t feel ready. Things like being a mom and a wife still put me in shock. How can I be old enough for either??!! Oh, but I am!

I LOVE my life and I LOVE my family which makes me one thankful birthday girl!!

With Valentines approaching, candy is in full effect. The kids and I went to Target this weekend to get a head start on their class valentines. Eden was a little overwhelmed with the options!

When the New Year approached us, I was super excited to take down my Christmas decor, spring clean and organize each room. It’s funny how before Christmas, I was already sad thinking about taking the tree down but once New Years hit, I was beyond ready! My goal for 2013 (when it comes to my house) is to create a comfortable haven that people can relax in. Sometimes homes can be too stiff and perfect. I don’t want that. I want each room to have a story to tell. I don’t want my guests to feel like they can’t have fun. I want to mix unexpected patterns and display copper with silver. I also want to entertain like a crazy lady. Relationships have become beyond important to me and I don’t want to leave this world wishing that I had spent more time with friends and family. I’m ready to a have a really fun year, in my home.

Well friends, I’m officially back from the holidays! It felt so good to take a few days off to reflect on life and have some good old fashioned fun. I feel refreshed and ready for the new year! I have some goals that I’m planning on running after this year, including some big goals for Simply Grove. I started this blog as a platform to share design and decor that I love. It will always be a place where you can find design inspiration but I want to take it further this year. I want to challenge myself as a designer and become more vulnerable with all of you. In that you will see a few things happen more often. More personal posts, personal design projects, guest bloggers and collaborations with other designers to name a few. I love design so much and I can only imagine how much you all love it. So let’s have fun this year!!!! xxoo

This past year has been amazing, challenging, fun, fulfilling  full of highs and some lows. All in all, I am so grateful and thankful that I’m surrounded by people that I love. I am also thankful that I’m not doing life alone. I can’t imagine sacrificing relationships for success. My friends and family mean way too much to me.

I hope and pray that you are able to look back at 2012 and feel a sense of happiness and accomplishment. If not, 2013 is a new year full of the best possibilities!!!

I’m popping my head in after being at the hospital all morning. Last night at a Christmas party, myself and a crowd of people cheered my husband on to do his famous fast feet river dance. It’s the funniest thing you’ve ever seen! But sadly ended bad last night as he sprained his ankle. We thought it was a break so we’re extra thankful it’s not. I feel like poop for egging him on and now he’s on crutches for Christmas. I guess it will make for a fun story one day?? I will most likely post the video for you all to see so stay tuned for that.
