Creating A Cozy Bedroom

This post was sponsored by Stearns & Foster. All opinions are my own.

As we’re continuing to settle into the New Year, it’s out with the Christmas decor and in with the new, fresh looks of 2020. I have a few tips to create the perfect New Year cozy vibe for your bedroom.

First, you truly can’t achieve cozy without a quality mattress as the starting point to add comfort. If you want to be hugged for 8 hours, I have the perfect mattress for you and is my number 1 tip to creating a cozy bedroom. We just upgraded to the Stearns & Foster Lux Estate Pollock Ultra Plush mattress and it has completely elevated our sleep! Now, if you prefer a firmer mattress, I’d suggest the same mattress but either in plush or cushion firm.

This specific mattress feels like it molds to your body. My husband keeps saying that he hasn’t slept this good in years. That’s saying a lot because we both sleep great as it is! The mattress itself is 16″ so it’s a bit higher than your normal mattress. I like the look of something that’s higher. It looks just as luxurious as it feels! Also, check out that beautiful navy hue (matches this year’s Pantone Color of the Year!)

Next, I can’t emphasize enough the importance of quality layers to add desired comfort with bedding to your mattress that you can’t help but dive into. If you want to create a lux look in your bedroom, layering different textures ensure a cozy yet stylish space. On my bed I have a down comforter, an organic cotton quilt, linen sheets and a plethora of soft pillows.

Another element that I love adding to a bedroom is the perfect right lighting. At night my bedroom has a nice, soft glow. I have two table lamps on each nightstand, a table lamp on the dresser and a simple modern chandelier that I’m able to dim at night. Lighting is an extremely important detail in any bedroom.

A few more simple tips include adding a soft rug underneath your bed, as well as styling the end of the bed with a bench. Both of these details can create an elevated look in your bedroom.

Happy styling!
