This simple, textural tablescape is the perfect look to brighten up, yet bring a peaceful feel to your holiday dinner party. With neutral accents I found it to be formal, yet comfortable and a look you could easily achieve with goods already found in your home!
Achieving this winter white tablescape is all about layering similar pieces but intentionally avoiding matching each and every place setting, while pulling in warm tones from the outdoors to soften its minimal approach.
Grounding the look:
Start with a woven linen tablecloth like this.
Undone place settings:
Incorporate different shapes, sizes of stoneware place settings, making sure to have slight variation in design and color like this, this and this (on sale!!). Tuck a white linen napkin imperfectly between your layered starter and dinner plate. You can go for a unfinished hem or a tailored hem, depending on what you already have at home. Thrift or borrow a vintage crystal set of glassware if you don’t already have a collection started. This adds traditional character to your modern look. Use a simple craft card stock to print or hand write a menu for the evening. Lastly, work in a quality flatware to really complete the look with holiday elegance. I love this brushed copper set or this gold flatware.
Relaxed centerpiece styling:
Next style all of your neutral or clear bud vases and ceramics from around the house pairing varying shapes and styles together as to not feel overly perfect. Tuck stems of wheatgrass or magnolia in them at varying heights and thickness.
Finish the look:
I would suggest adding in a few white tapered candles for some additional warmth to the look polish off the look.
I hope you feel inspired to invite friends over and gather together for a heartwarming evening, our favorite thing to do this time of year!
