It is that time of year to gather inspiration for your home for the holidays.. I always like to go to the drawing board and put thoughts together on how I want our home to feel each year during this season.

First, change up your look by bringing wintery greenery into your home. Tuck away those beloved house plants you adore year round in a safe place and replace with live garland and wreaths, flanking the natural architecture of your home for an organic, festive vibe.

Next, when I turn to my closet, I love a winter white look. So why not go for winter whites when it comes to decorating your home for the winter season. Mix white textural elements of rugs, bedding, layered accessories, and white garland and tree trimmings to have a minimal holiday look that isn’t lacking any spirit.

I love the thought of intentionally staging up a cozy corner in my home. Find the perfect spot to style faux fur pillows and chunky throw blankets and create a little nook for snuggling up in that you wouldn’t typically have in your home year round.

One piece of advice we can’t recommend enough is staying true to your style and only making subtle additions that create holiday feels in your home. Instead of feeling the pressure to completely transform a space, remember that sticking with what you love, may actually be just the answer to bringing you the most comfort and joy this season!

Lastly, if you are typically a fan of rich hues throughout your home (hi! you know we are here. for. color. over here…) may we suggest peeling back some of those bold tones for winter and try swapping for neutral accessories. An example would be layering cream and grey throws and pillows where you once had bold pattern and color play, or turning your books around on a bookshelf switching from colorful binds to soft white pages, just for a short while. Simple adjustments can yield a fresh, light winter look.
