Old Navy Style

When I first moved to Boise Idaho almost 18 years ago, I moved to a very sleepy city that had so much potential but didn’t quite recognize the potential. Now Boise is quickly becoming a city that is filled with art, food, design, culture and many more opportunities. This city thrives on community. People love each other and want others to succeed. Boise is laid back but extremely interested in moving forward in style and design. I love my city and I want it to become the best that it can be!

I recently partnered with Old Navy for their #50Styles50States program, which has allowed me to represent the state of Idaho! How does my home state shape my personal fashion choices? Well, going back to how I originally described Boise is how I feel about my fashion choices.  Because this city is growing and maturing, our style is moving forward as well. We are laid back in our fashion approach but that doesn’t mean that all fashion has gone to the wind. We are a relaxed community with a flair for trends. You see a lot of denim and tees, paired with heels or sneakers. Because we are trying to become the biking capital, you see bikers everywhere! This also creates a very laid back look.

Personally, I am all about pairing a pencil skirt with sneakers and chunky jewelry. I am also a big fan of jean jackets. You can pair them with dresses or denim. In Boise, it’s all about feeling comfortable yet looking put together. And because we have almost 300 days of sun, sunglasses are a must! This is a city that accessories are welcomed.

See below what three outfits I chose from Old Navy for my day to day.

Like I said, denim is welcomed here in Boise. We are surrounded by beautiful mountains, foothills and rolling fields. Though our downtown is becoming a small metropolitan area, our outskirts are still filled with country and beauty, which makes denim a must!

One of my favorite looks is a classic pencil skirt with a t-shirt and sneakers. It can translate from either comfy to stylish. When I am meeting with clients, I like to feel comfortable. I don’t want to design a space in stilettoes. This entire outfit is my favorite look. The striped skirt is a fall must!

Another casual yet dressy look is this dress that can either be paired with heels or flats. It’s light and breezy, which is perfect for September. And if you want to take it into the fall, you can pair it with booties and a jean jacket.

This look is perfect for meeting a friend for coffee or meeting with a client. This classic white button up looks great paired with denim or a skirt. The animal print clutch gives the outfit a perfect pop.

  1. Yay! I love these looks and definitely feel they represent Boise. I’m newish to Boise (been here a year). It’s been really interesting getting to know my new city. It feels like a city on the rise. My husband is originally from Boise and he said growing up downtown was kinda desolate. Crazy!
