Do you ever consider window treatments to be a tricky purchase? There are many options and ideas that you could consider. We have two very large windows off of our living room that I’ve wanted to cover for privacy sake. We’ve been shopping around, trying to find the best alternative. I didn’t want anything chunky or thick. I wanted to keep the look minimal so that the windows could still be the focal point. Also, I wanted to find something that can be programmed to lower and raise at specific times of the day.
Hi, Hunter Douglas. I love you!
When Hunter Douglas reached out to me about my window situation, I realized that they were about to make things easy for me. The style and fabric choice was a very easy decision for me, I went with their Vignette Modern Roman Shades in the India Silk fabric. Because I wanted something simple and clean, yet still decorative, this was my favorite option. I also wanted to stay with white so that they wouldn’t compete with the walls.
Let’s talk about how great it is that you can program these shades to reposition on their own throughout the day. You just program the different positions you want at specific times of the day using the PowerView App and let your shades do all of the work. I already programmed two settings – ‘Wakeup’ and ‘Bedtime’, which is perfect for every day. My dogs get up early in the morning, so I have the shades open at 7AM. Bedtime for us varies, but I still have the shades close at 10pm for privacy. You can even use the handy PowerView Scene Controller to easily move the shades during other times of the day.
If you didn’t think that was cool enough, these window treatments are so smart that I can sync them to raise and lower with the exact sunrise and sunset times each day! Hunter Douglas, you get all of the cool points.
Quite possibly my favorite thing about these shades, they still let light in! It’s like the perfect light diffusor you didn’t know you needed. My living space gets beautiful light play even when these babies are closed. No glare city here I am.
My house came with character when we moved in! I mean, every mid-century home does. We have two beautiful fireplaces, huge windows and great lighting throughout the home. So, I cannot stress enough how important it is to not overwhelm your windows with crazy treatments. These blinds are so so so perfect because they are fresh and add such a nice softness and look gorgeous yet don’t distract from everything else wonderful happening in my home. That was key for me!
